Jinna Syana hove banda ona maut darandi ey;
Jyon jyon painda kardi karni pyas vi vadhadi jandi ey.
Ag na dil di thandi hove daryavan de pani ton;
Painda ghar da muk na sakke hargiz mati syani ton.
Maut ne teri ek nahi manani had gode aa bhannegi;
Je kar maut kadi kujh manni naam hari da mannegi.
Nirankar da naam je layiye sukh aunda dukh janda ey;
Avtar guru di sharni jayiye tan eh nazrin anda ey.

The more a man is clever, the more the death frightens him;
The more he treads the path of self-effort, the more he feels thirsty.
The fire that is burning in the heart cannot be calmed by water of rivers;
The journey to the divine destination cannot be finished by one’s own wisdom.
O’man, the death will not listen to you, it will completely smash your body;
If at all the death accepts anything, it will be the Name of God.
If we remember the Name of the Formless one-Nirankar, happiness comes and the sorrows goes;
Avtar says, God can be perceived only if we seek the shelter of the True Master.

Meaning
The more a man tries to show his cleverness, the more death scares him. The more a man tries to follow the path of self-effort, the more he feels thirsty for worldly possessions. The fire in the heart cannot be cooled by the waters of the rivers. The journey of Salvation can never end with wordly knowledge and shrewdness. Death will not listen to you, and will crush you body. If at all, death will yield, it will do so in the name of God. If we remember and hail Nirankar, happiness comes and sorrow goes. Avatar says, God can only be realized only if we seek the shelter of the True Master.
